A WEEKEND TO FORGET

Due to the bad luck the Blusens Aprilia returns without any point from the French GP


Two crashes, one not finished and a 19th place is what can explain better how has been the worst weekend of this season for the Blusens Aprilia team. All started to turn bad on Friday with the crash suffered by Efrén Vázquez and today everything has gone worst in both categories. In the 125cc class, in a race that has been stopped for the rain, Scott Redding has been involved in a crash with other two riders in the sixth lap. Neither his teammate Efrén Vázquez has finished the race due to an electrical problem with his Aprilia. In the 250cc class Eugene Laverty fell down when he was fighting for a meritorious 13th position, meanwhile Russell Gómez is been the only rider of the team who has managed to end the race. He has finished the race in the 19th position.

After all this misfortune, as it’s normal, the box of the Blusens Aprilia team was full of disappointment. Ricard Jové, General Manager of the Spanish team was very disappointed: “all the team members are working very hard but now they are all disappointed for this bad luck, is not right for them. We all know that those are things that happens at the races but when they happen all together, is very hard. Now is time to look forward and rise up from this hard knock. Working all together we know that we are going to be able to fight again for the front positions and we will to this in Mugello for sure”.

Scott Redding (125cc – Crash) The British rider started the race vary well with serious options in the second group, but a crash suffered in the first part of the race, let him out of it. “Two riders have fallen just in front of me and I haven´t been able to pass throw them. I’ve had a hard crash in my head but fortunately I’ve escaped unhurt from the incident. Anyway I’m so unhappy because I’ve made a good start and I was comfortable in that second group. And also I think that if I should have been in the race when it has been stopped, that second start would have been good for me”.

Efrén Vázquez (125cc – Not Finished) For Vázquez this GP is been a race to forget. “I thought that the hardest thing today was going to be the pain in my right ankle trying to finish the race. But an electrical problem with my Aprilia didn’t let me finish more than seven laps. The problems have appeared in the warm up but we haven’t been able to resolve them. This weekend is been really disappointing for me because from the first day I saw that this track would have been good for my conditions”.

Russell Gómez (250cc – 19º - 48’05”598 - 1’44”900) The Spanish rider was the only man with a smile on his face in the Blusens Aprilia box. “My objective was to finish the race and I’ve done it. Moreover while the track is been wet I’ve ride very comfortable overtaking some riders. But when the track started to became dry, I’ve started to suffer the adaptation problems that I’m having from the beginning of the season. Anyway I’m happy with all the weekend”.

Eugene Laverty (250cc – Crash) “I’m really disappointed with myself. I’ve tried to overtake Baldolini quickly and I’ve made a mistake that causes not to score the points that I was fighting for today. In the beginning the track was very dangerous and I’ve started slowly. But as it became dry I’ve started to improve hard overtaking a lot of riders. Then when I was fighting for the 13th position I’ve crashed. Anyway we are in a good route and we must follow this way to continue scoring more points for the Championship”.
