EFRÉN WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR BLUSENS BQR

Salom, runner-up, has completed double success in the 125cc category

Cardoso has also reached the final podium in the Formula Extreme

The Blusens BQR team has added another title to its track record today.  It was obtained by the hand of the Vizcayan pilot Efrén Vázquez who proclaimed himself the Spanish Motorcycling Speed Championship in the 125 cc category.  Efrén arrived to this final test as the leader and from the start of the race has demonstrated his ability to defend this privileged position.  At the end, he finished in 2nd place which guaranteed him the national crown. His teammate Luís Salom (4th) also had chances to obtain the title and kept himself in the fight until his performance was diminished after suffering two falls during the training session.  Even after everything, the Mallorcan has completed a magnificent season shown by the runner-up position.

Ricard Jové, General Manager of the Catalonian team, congratulated his two pupils and highlighted the work of the entire team:
“This title has a lot of value because it has been quite hard to achieve and we have had to fight very hard to overcome the lack of fortune we suffered in specific moments.  Efrén and Salom have both performed very well and their top positions at the grid only confirm the great shape the team maintained in the last seasons.” Jové has also extended this satisfaction to the performance demonstrated throughout the year by the rest of the Blusens BQR pilots.

In the 4T categories, José Luís Cardoso y Dani Rivas also completed an outstanding campaign.  Cardoso arrived to the last race of the Formula Extreme with the chance to achieve the final victory but ran into some mechanical problems that did not allow him to pass 9th place.  In spite of this, the Sevillian finished the competition in a brilliant third position.  In the same category, Russell Gómez experienced a significant advance to 15th place on the last day of the Championship.  In Supersport Dani Rivas (4th) confirmed himself as the clear future alternative and finished the season classified in a magnificent 4th place.

Efrén Vázquez (125cc – 2nd - 29’21”426 – 1’49”445) “I don’t find myself capable of making a lot of analysis.  I am still in a cloud and not completely aware of what we have achieved.  I set out the race in a simple way and I tried to pull away from the rest since the start.  When I was in the lead with only Krummenacher, I chose not to risk more than necessary.  I am very happy and want to thank and share this victory with everyone who has supported me.”

Luís Salom (125cc – 4th - 29’30”216 – 1’49”398) “I did everything that I could.  I maintained the lead until the pain in my hand became unbearable.  Anyways, I am very happy with the runner-up position achieved in a season in which I have learned a lot and demonstrated that I am able to compete with world class pilots.  The whole team has helped me a lot with the growth I have experienced this year and I really appreciate it.”

José Luís Cardoso (Formula Extreme – 9th – 29’55”891 - 1’43”565) “It has been a shame not being able to compete for the victory in the last race and in front of my audience. I did everything I could but the motorcycle gave me a lot of problems.  I had a lot of scares due to grip problems and the shifting was also not working for me throughout the entire race.  At any rate, I believe this year has been positive because I have recovered competitiveness.  I want to thank Raúl Romero for the faith he has had in me.

Russell Gómez (Formula Extreme – 15th - 30’09”472 – 1’45”440) “We have finally achieved that next step that we were looking for.  We have lived the most complete weekend since I returned to the Championship.  The only handicap has turned into a success.  I didn’t start out very well and had to overcome positions once again but at least this time I entered within the points and the effort was worthwhile.  But the best thing of all has been being able to be the pilot of a team that has turned into my family.”

Dani Rivas (Supersport – 4th - 30’11”874 – 1’45”197) “At the start of the race I lost contact with the group in the lead and even though I was turning  at a good pace, I was not able to recuperate the lost ground.  Even so, I am happy because I have been able to prevail in the battle for fourth place.  The season in its entirety has been very good and I have performed at a great level.  I believe that if it wasn’t for those two races in Albacete, I would have been able to fight for runner-up.”
