The four riders have fighted hard but with different luck
This morning has ended at the Shangai circuit the Chinese GP, the fourth race of the World Championship. The global result for the Blusens Aprilia team is been more than acceptable . The four riders have fighted hard this weekend and we can say that they have achieved their objectives. The best part is been for Efrén Vázquez, 10th in the 125cc class and for Eugene Laverty, 13th in the quarter of a liter. Scott Redding and Russell Gómez also have done good races. The first one is been fighting to get the Top 10 but at four laps to go has suffered a crash, meanwhile Gómez has finished his first race of the World Championship.
Ricard Jové, General Manager of the Spanish team, pointed that this GP is been good to see how are the races at the maximum level. “The equality and the competitiveness are maximum and for that reason conclusions can be removed before time. Here nothing ends until you see the last flag. During the qualifying sessions we had a lot of different problems, but when you work hard you can always improve. We must never forget this and today our riders have been fighting until the end, within their possibilities”.
Today the rain has fallen from the beginning of the day, making the conditions of the track totally different to the days before. Obviously this has caused changes in the settings of the bikes and the races have became – especially the 125cc class – races by elimination. Vázquez and Reding where sure of it from the beginning and they have been trying not to take so much risks. Efrén has managed to finish the race and in a splendid 10th position. The worst part is been for his teammate. The British rider has been fighting to take good points but in the last part of the race has suffered a crash.
In the 250cc class, Eugene Laverty (13th) and Russell Gómez (17th) have done a very good job and now stay closer to the riders with official bikes. Laverty has made his best race of the season, taking points for second consecutive race. Meanwhile Gómez has gain the objective of finishing his first World Championship race. With this results, they stay stronger to go to the next GP at France, in the Le Mans circuit, where the difference with the official bikes is smaller.
Efrén Vázquez (125cc – 10º - 46’43”286 - 2’24”799) “this weekend is been really hard for us. Yesterday I was very disappointed with so much mechanicals problems. Luckily all the team members have continued working very hard and thanks to all I have take confidence again. During the race I knew that I had to be very clever, due to the rain conditions. I have done it again and one more time I have shown that I can be near the best riders of the class”.
Scott Redding (125cc – Crash - 2’25”543) “Obviously I can’t be satisfied because I have lost one opportunity to score some more points. Anyway the bike is been good today and I have taken more experience. Really I have done a bad start, but I’ve been improving during all the race until I’ve made a mistake and everything has finished”.
Eugene Laverty (250cc – 13º - 49’12”949 - 2’18”068) The Irish rider wasn’t happy enough at the end of the race: “The result is good, more when we had a problem just before the start of the race. Anyway we have resolved it and I have made a very good race. I was always riding comfortable, but in the last part of the race I’ve had problems with the helmet and I couldn’t see well the track. Without this problem I think I could have been fighting to get a place in the Top10”.
Russell Gómez (250cc – 17º - 50’25”935 - 2’21”480) “I needed to end my first race of the Championship. This was very important for me to continue learning in this championship, and I have done it. Taking care of the bad conditions of the track today it’s been still more important, and that’s why I’m so happy”.
