Historic Blusens one-two-three in the Spanish Motorcycle Championship- Stefan Bradl champion

STEFAN BRADL IS PROCLAIMED CHAMPION OF SPAIN, SCOTT REDDING WINS HIS THIRD RACE IN A ROW AND EFRÉN VÁZQUEZ FINISHES THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THIRD PLACE, DUE TO WHICH THE THREE BLUSENS RIDERS FILL THE TOP THREE SPOTS IN THE FINAL GENERAL CLASSIFICATION - AN UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS IN THE SPANISH MOTORCYCLE CHAMPIONSHIP

The three Blusens BQR riders, Stefan Bradl, Scott Redding and Efrén Vázquez, have made history today finishing first, second and third, respectively, in the Spanish Motorcycle Championship, a feat that has never been achieved before. Stefan Bradl, who started as odds-on favourite, crossed the line in second place - behind his team-mate Scott Redding, who won his third race in a row – picking up the points he needed to be proclaimed Champion of Spain. Scott was the runner up, only nine points behind Stefan. Efrén Vázquez came over the line in fourth place, and leapfrogging over Pere Tutusaus in the General Classification to finish third in the championship, thus giving Blusens BQR an impressive one-two-three.

In the words of the race-winner, Scott Redding: “The race went really well, and I did what I had to do - win it. I’ve won the last three races, and I can’t ask for any more than that. I feel that towards the end of the Championship I’ve been the strongest, but I'm a little disappointed as I've paid for the bad start to the season that I got off to. But I’m happy, too; second is a good result for me. With regard to next year, I think I'll be a clear favourite for the title, and I hope that things go as well as they have in these last three races, although I'm sure it'll be another difficult, highly competitive championship." Scott Redding will carry on riding for the Blusens BQR team next year, when he will be competing in both the Spanish Motorcycling Championship and the World Championship in the 125 cc class.

Stefan Bradle was jubilant after carrying off the title: “The race was perfect. It had been a difficult weekend, because it rained on Friday and Saturday, and I wasn't too happy under those conditions, but luckily today the race turned out to be a dry one. I would like to thank Blusens BQR for the whole season, and for giving me the chance to get back on a bike again; I'm really happy to have won the Championship. I knew that I had to get off to a good start, and perhaps the best of the year, because Scott was going very strong, but I collided with a rival on the first bend, and caused me significant problems. From then on I tried to push as hard as possible, because Scott was opening up a gap, but it was already impossible to catch him. I had a running battle with Masbou for second spot, and I managed to get past him on the last bend and come in second behind my team-mate. At the start of the race I was a bit nervous, but once we got under way I was very focused and was just thinking about going as fast as I could to finish as high up as possible”.

Efrén Vázquez completed the Blsuens BQR festival by taking third spot in the Championship with his fourth place in the last race.

As for the other categories, in Extreme David de Gea wound up his participation in the Spanish Motorcycling Championship with yet another podium finish, coming in third in the last race of the season, bringing down the curtain a Championship which has seen him proclaimed champion in four out of the last five editions - the last three in a row. With this result, the Blusens BQR rider picked up his seventh podium in seven races, with three victories and three second places - without doubt an excellent record which underlines his tremendous regularity and shows that he is the best rider of in this championship. In the Supersport class, Russell Gómez won the last race of the 2007 Spanish Motorcycle Championship, but in the end missed out on the overall title by just three points. The Blusens BQR rider had his best race of the year, and after a fine battle with Lascorz, took the lead with just three laps to go; nevertheless, his rival for the title, Gowland, kept his nerve and came in immediately behind him, so Gómez could only claw back five points of the eight points disadvantage he had. Gowland finished on 112 points and Russell on 109. His team-mate, Dani Rivas, who started a long way back in twentieth place, made a great fight-back, coming in tenth, thus attaining his goal of a top-ten finish. With today's points, the Galician rider finishes twelfth in the Championship on 28 points, just three off a top-ten placing.
